amy Guerra-Moratillo, LM, CPM
I was born, raised, and currently live in Naples. I graduated from Barron Collier High School and attended University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville from 2016 through 2020. At UF, I earned a degree in Bachelor of Science with a major in Microbiology and Cell Science. and I completed all pre-med requirements for medical school.
During my gap year before beginning medical school in 2021, I met my soulmate and we decided to start our family. When I became pregnant, I truly reflected on the type of care I wished to receive in pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum. I learned about midwifery care and immediately knew this was the type of care I wanted. I had a long and challenging, yet beautiful home birth with a wonderful licensed midwife. This very moment was the sign I needed to switch gears to become a midwife instead.
As time passed, I was eager to begin birth work and became a doula around 4-6 months postpartum, and began to research midwifery schools. I spent the next year continuing to support moms as a doula, and was accepted into the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in June 2023. I began Midwifery School in September of 2023 and precepted under 3 midwives in the Southwest Florida Community, and assisted other midwives occasionally. I attended 90 births under my apprenticeships and gave birth at home to my second baby boy at the end of my senior year of midwifery school. I graduated from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in August 2026. All of these experiences shaped the midwife I am today.
I am a fiancé, mom, dog mom, chicken mom, and cat mom. I have 2 dogs (Labrador Retriever & German Shorthaired pointer), 1 cat, and too many chickens to count.. I love spending time outdoors with my animals, going to the beach and watching the boys fish, baking, lifting weights, and spending quality time with my family.
